ABOUT

Felicity Combs Singer

That uncomfortable moment when a stranger says to you, “So, tell me about yourself.”…

Well…guess that’s what we’re here for. *Deep breath*

Okay, the quick briefing:
I’ve been recording and performing music since the age of 5, playing piano since the age of 7, and songwriting since 13 years of age. I’ve been involved in many bands, repented of a couple of them, and even had great opportunity to move forward in the mainstream music business world.

But, I walked away from it all.
And, I laid it down for a long season.

Newsflash: not everything we think and feel is worth saying. In fact, a whole lot of it is harmful when shamelessly divulged. I personally felt unsettled by much of what I’d been writing about and singing about. Was it helping people, or was it hurting them? And, the big biggie, was it pleasing to the God I called “My Lord”? Oooo.
Looking back, God was doing a work in my heart. He was changing my affections and fine-tuning my convictions. By His Grace, the pain and suffering and disappointment I was experiencing in my life was redirecting my sights back to Him. He was drawing me into His Word, to show me who He really is and who I really am, and to teach me His ways. He was leading me to the death of my rights and into His perfect Peace.

Now, I want the music I write and perform to be worthwhile, something worth saying, something worth putting out there in the ether that’s more than what my fleeting thoughts and emotions can conjure up.
And the only thing THAT worthwhile is TRUTH.
And truth comes from God. NOT me.
I’m only tasked with spreading the truth that is and has been long before I ever was.

So, that’s me. I’m here to live and to share God’s truth, the truth that is His Word, in the form of songs and blogs and whatever else my hands and my mind find to do. And, I pray that by God’s grace you, too, will be eager to do the same with your life.

Oh yeah, and the other stuff:
Felicity lives in Georgia with her husband of 23 years and their two stinky but sweet dogs, and she’s blessed by the presence of her two grown kids and one kid-n-law. She enjoys intellectually stimulating theological conversations and debates, and crocheting.
